EXPOSED: Kings of Rebellion MC 6 Read online

  Scrappy drops me off at the end of my road so my dad doesn’t see. We share one more kiss before saying bye and Scrappy shouts that he’ll call me. I have work tomorrow, so I’ll have to wait until later in the afternoon until I see him. I need to make a choice before then as to what I’m doing with my life.

  I wave to him as he drives away and I make my way home. I enter the door with smile, but it doesn’t last very long because as soon as I enter, a hand is wrapped around my throat and choking me. I scratch at my dad’s hands, trying to get him to let go but he tightens his hold.

  “You’ve been with that biker haven’t you?” He shouts, and finally as I feel as though I’m about to black out, he lets go.

  I fall to the floor, coughing and wheezing but he doesn’t seem in the slightest bit concerned and he wouldn’t. This isn’t the first time we’ve been through this.

  “Stand up!” My dad yells and I struggle to my feet.

  “Please.” I beg him but he doesn’t listen.

  He lands a sharp slap to my face, so hard that I fall to floor gripping my face. I cry as I crawl up on the floor but my dad is too angry to care. To be honest, even when he’s not angry he doesn’t care. I wish he had got cancer and died instead of my mother.

  “You’ve been fucking with the biker again.” My dad spits in my face. “Haven’t you!”

  “Dad.” I cry, pleading with him to just stop.

  He growls impatiently, grabbing a handful of my hair and drags me down the hallway, into my room. We live in a bungalow thank god otherwise he would be dragging me the stairs. I scream out in pain as it feels like he’s ripping my hair from my scalp, but again my dad doesn’t seem to care what he’s doing.

  “I’m going to lock you in your room until you see sense.” He threatens. “You can’t be distracted.”

  My dad is only interested in one thing. Money. He moans every day that my mother left me her money but he’s not done there, he wants me to marry into money too. He wants to keep me locked away so he can wed me off to the highest bidder. I am not kidding!

  “Dad please.” I cry but he doesn’t pay me any attention.

  When we get to my room, he throws me to the floor but I then spot my mistake. The pregnancy test that I took a couple of days ago is under the bed, the box it’s tucked inside is peeking out from under the bed and my dad has just spotted it. He bends down and frowns at the thing.

  “You’re pregnant?” He asks, looking at my stomach in disgust. “With that biker’s brat?”

  I hate what he just called my baby and before he can do anything else to me, I move out of the way before his kick has a chance to land on my stomach. I cry as he tries to capture me through the house and thank god he didn’t lock the door because I’m able to run the way he dragged me and out the house. I don’t stop there though. I continue to run and I don’t stop until I reach my cousins who lives two minutes down the road.

  He lives on his own, Dillan is about five years older than me and he’s always there for me. With my dad the way he is, I don’t know what I would have done without him. He always persuades me to live with him but if I did, my dad would be here every single day to drag me back and I don’t want to put him or me through that. Instead, I will suffer until I can get access to my mother’s money and I’ll run. That’s always been the plan.

  I bang on the door and Dillan opens up, looking stunned when he sees the state of me. “Shit Erica, not again.”

  I walk inside and Dillan knocks the door because no doubt my dad will be here soon to try and drag me back. The police will be called and my dad will be taken away. Once it’s cooled off I’ll go back and then a couple of weeks later we will be back here.

  “Fucking hell, you can’t keep doing this.” Dillan shakes his head at the sight of me. “Especially now.” Dillan points to my belly.

  “He found out.” I tell him and Dillan shouts.

  “Shit! Have you told your biker?”

  “No.” Taking a deep breath, I face my shit head on. “You’re right, it’s best if I get out here now. I have some money saved from work.”

  “I can transfer you some too if you need more.” Dillan suggests, handing me a bag with some emergency clothes packed inside. Something he told me to secretly organise months ago and I’m glad I took his advice.

  I need to get away from my dad. Dillan is right. I can’t keep living like this. This way, I will start a fresh with my baby.

  “You get in touch with anything you need.” Dillan urges me and he jumps online, booking me a hotel for a few weeks with his credit card. “That should do you until you find somewhere more permanent.”

  I quickly hug him. “Thank you Dillan.”

  “Anytime.”

  He then sneaks me into his car and as we drive away my dad comes running around the corner, yelling at the car and threatening me. It just confirms that I’m doing the right thing however, when we drive past the clubhouse that Scrappy goes to, I feel shit. I’m pregnant with his baby and he has no clue but would he want this big change?

  This way, I’m getting my new start and Scrappy can still live his carefree life.
